Write the Right Job
We’re in a time where things are done much more differently than they were done in 1990. Which doesn’t seem like that long ago. This is an age where success doesn’t lie in the hands of a college diploma. We have multi-millionaires who haven’t taken 2 hours of college. This is a time where a company can operate over the phone or through email. So it’s important to know that what might have gotten you your last job, might not work for your next best career choice. You must know that you have to be creative when seeking out your next position in life. You must challenge yourself, and get out of your comfort zone. You must design your next job. When designing your next career move, first you must write down exactly what it is you desire to come forward in your life. Whether your goal is to get another job exactly like you had, or if it is to create a new career for yourself. Write every detail of what it that you desire. Even write down, the type of environment you desire to be in. Write the colors of the walls. Write it as if you were writing the novel of you life. Be as descriptive as possible. For the less spiritual and more practical person, these steps seem very lofty. However, it has scientifically proven, that if you write down what you want, you have a 75 percent chance of it coming into fruition. So get to writing. Furthermore, so what if it’s lofty, your goal should be do everything differently. In the words of one my favorite self-help gurus, “How is what you were doing before working for you?” Another reason writing is a good idea is that it helps you become clear. It helps you compartmentalize and prioritize aspects of your life. You become connected to a part of you that might have been buried because of the grind of your last position or just life in general. Putting things in print gives you a push, and it Once you get your desires on paper, it then becomes a contract that keeps you accountable for everything on your list. It also serves as an outline or check-off for your dreams. Once you’ve written all of that down then ask the Universe how you can serve it. Ask it what it most needs from you.
Laid Off, Now What? Pt.1
So you’ve been laid off, now what? Do you cry yourself to sleep? Yeah, if that’s what gets you through the night. Do you cry for a week? Cry if your emotions move you in that way. However, it is important to know what you are crying about. Are you crying because you loved your job? Are crying because that’s how you mourn a loss? Are you crying because you feel betrayed? Are you crying because you are scared of the future? Are you crying because your savings account balance is zero? Are you crying because you were the sole provider for your family? Are you crying because you have a mortgage? Are you crying because you are in major debt? Whatever you are crying about get it out of your system so that you can move pass that stage. By the way, if you’re a guy and you want to cry, but because you’re a guy, and guys don’t cry, then replace the act of crying with anger. (It’s unfortunate that society has set it up that way, that men shouldn’t cry.
It is important to know that being laid off is the Universe working for you. It’s what’s best for you. It’s the kick in a different direction. If you’re used to taking the same monotonous path to work everyday, then consider being “laid off” a break from the monotony. It’s a clearing of energy. It’s an opportunity to start over fresh, or to wipe the slate clean. Think of it as reinvention time. Yeah, I know you’re thinking not having income coming in isn’t your idea of a clean break or kick in the right direction. It doesn’t seem clear to you, because if it was, you wouldn’t be reading this now. The goal for you is to choose a different way of seeing your present career/job situation or your life for that matter. Here’s a thought for you. Will you agree that on some level you wanted to get “laid off”? Were you tired of going there 5 days out of the week? If you’re reading this then you probably were praying for some sort of change in your life or daily routine. You were probably feeling under appreciated at your company. You probably had thrown in the towel from an attitude stance a long time before you were let go. Is it possible that you had already done all that you could have possibly done there? Had you lost respect for your superiors? Did you no longer believe in the company motto? Did you have opposite views from your co-workers? Whatever it might have been, it was the best thing that could’ve happened for your career and life. Whether you were on your knees praying, constantly thinking about a new job, or actively searching, you were sending the message into the Universe for change. Consider yourself blessed because your prayers were answered. It’s new day for a new opportunity to come into your life.
