So you’ve been laid off, now what? Do you cry yourself to sleep? Yeah, if that’s what gets you through the night. Do you cry for a week? Cry if your emotions move you in that way. However, it is important to know what you are crying about. Are you crying because you loved your job? Are crying because that’s how you mourn a loss? Are you crying because you feel betrayed? Are you crying because you are scared of the future? Are you crying because your savings account balance is zero? Are you crying because you were the sole provider for your family? Are you crying because you have a mortgage? Are you crying because you are in major debt? Whatever you are crying about get it out of your system so that you can move pass that stage. By the way, if you’re a guy and you want to cry, but because you’re a guy, and guys don’t cry, then replace the act of crying with anger. (It’s unfortunate that society has set it up that way, that men shouldn’t cry.
It is important to know that being laid off is the Universe working for you. It’s what’s best for you. It’s the kick in a different direction. If you’re used to taking the same monotonous path to work everyday, then consider being “laid off” a break from the monotony. It’s a clearing of energy. It’s an opportunity to start over fresh, or to wipe the slate clean. Think of it as reinvention time. Yeah, I know you’re thinking not having income coming in isn’t your idea of a clean break or kick in the right direction. It doesn’t seem clear to you, because if it was, you wouldn’t be reading this now. The goal for you is to choose a different way of seeing your present career/job situation or your life for that matter. Here’s a thought for you. Will you agree that on some level you wanted to get “laid off”? Were you tired of going there 5 days out of the week? If you’re reading this then you probably were praying for some sort of change in your life or daily routine. You were probably feeling under appreciated at your company. You probably had thrown in the towel from an attitude stance a long time before you were let go. Is it possible that you had already done all that you could have possibly done there? Had you lost respect for your superiors? Did you no longer believe in the company motto? Did you have opposite views from your co-workers? Whatever it might have been, it was the best thing that could’ve happened for your career and life. Whether you were on your knees praying, constantly thinking about a new job, or actively searching, you were sending the message into the Universe for change. Consider yourself blessed because your prayers were answered. It’s new day for a new opportunity to come into your life.
